Principal Tuba

Gabriel Sears is a leading tuba artist celebrated for his virtuosity, artistry, and engaging
performances. The first brass musician to win the United States Air Force Band’s
Colonel George S. Howard Young Artist Competition, Gabriel went on to earn top
honors at the Leonard Falcone International Tuba Artist Competition and a Fulbright
Grant to study in Hannover, Germany.

He currently serves as Principal Tubist of the San Bernardino Symphony under Maestro
Anthony Parnther and performs with the Southern California Brass Quintet, Denali
Brass Trio, and West Coast Prost!. A passionate educator, Gabriel is Adjunct Professor
of Tuba and Euphonium at CSU Long Beach, Fullerton College, and Irvine Valley
College.

His playing is featured on major film and television soundtracks including Despicable
Me 4, Black Adam, Nope, among many others. An International Artist and Clinician for
Eastman Music Company, Gabriel lives in Fullerton, CA with his wife and their beloved
pets.
