Hailed by Opera News as “vibrant,” Soprano Katherine Polit is excited to be making her Orchestra Santa Monica debut and singing under the baton of Roger Kalia for their fifth concert together. Other collaborations include Evansville Philharmonic’s Peppermint Pops, Pacific Symphony’s The Magic Flute (Pamina), Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with Owensboro Symphony, and Charlotte Symphony’s A Waltz to Remember.

During the 2022-23 season, Katherine made her debut with San Diego Opera, as First Touriere in Sour Angelica and appeared as Belinda in Dido and Aeneas with Bodhi Tree Concerts. Her concert highlights include Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate (Helena Symphony), Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Handel’s Messiah (La Jolla Symphony), and Vivaldi’s Gloria (DCINY Concerts, David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center). Her notable operatic roles include Ännchen in Der Freischütz, Diana in Orpheus in the Underworld, Musetta in Bohème Unplugged (Virgina Opera), Papagena in The Magic Flute (Opera Naples), Rose Maybud in Ruddigore, Fiona in Brigadoon (Ohio Light Opera).

Katherine is also a member of the voice faculty at San Diego State University and an active recitalist. She completed her Doctor of Music in Vocal Literature and Performance at Indiana University. To learn more about Katherine, please visit katiepolit.com
