Bernstein: Overture to Candide

About this performance: This program opens with gusto and joy with Leonard Bernstein‘s brilliant Overture to Candide. Written in 2019 by British composer Anna Clyne, DANCE is a five-movement work based upon a five-line poem by the 13th-century poet Rumi. Cellist Eric Byers returns to perform with OSM in this rich, compelling work. Sergei Rachmaninoff‘s passionate Symphony No. 2 is a masterpiece of romantic music. It was an instant success when it premiered in 1908 and continues to be revered to this day.

Lobby doors open one hour before the concert. Tickets are for open seating, so you may want to arrive early to save your seat(s). Late seating is not guaranteed.
